Mary Addison Hackett received her BFA from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and her MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1995 before moving to Los Angeles in 2000. A painter whose practice includes both abstract and representational work, Hackett draws on a range of painterly techniques and traditional genres from the history of painting in order to record day-to-day life. She has exhibited with Kristi Engle Gallery in Los Angeles (2010, 2008) and participated in numerous group exhibitions both nationally, (Los Angeles, New York, Chicago) and internationally, (Umbria, Italy; Rotterdam, Netherlands; Montevideo, Uruguay.)
