Selected works from a project exploring the intersection of photography, neurodiversity, and mental health. Integral to the work is my use of analog film cameras and alternative film processing. The gelatin silver prints are made with pinhole cameras I've constructed out of found objects, a lensless large-format view camera, and two vintage cameras from the 1900s.
I began working with a large format analog photography to engage more deliberately with my surroundings and my practice as a whole. The pinhole process is slow and purposeful. Without a viewfinder or lens, there is an element of chance, and imperfection is inherent. Oftentimes, I move in and out of the exposures, inserting my body into the frame, though, in the end, the trace of my physical presence remains almost imperceptible. The resulting images are photographic records documenting time and space.
